Modern Apartment in Residencia Serenity, Benalmadena

Nothing can beat that view! Up in the hills of Benalmadena you can see down to the sea and up to the mountains. The apartment has two good size terraces - one opening from the living-dining and kitchen area, and the other one from the master bedroom. So it is easy to enjoy the Andalusian scenery.

As it is a new development everything is new & fresh. The apartment is in two levels - open kitchen, dining and living area is downstairs as well as a half bath. Upstairs you can find two en suite bedrooms.

My job was to make this apartment a modern & cosy second home in Scandinavian style while the owner was in Finland. I chose neutral tones as they are easy to mix any other colours later on. As the apartment was totally empty the project included beside furniture, textiles and decor items, also tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

Penthouse with Spectacular Views in Med One, Fuengirola

What makes this holiday home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open plan living & kitchen special is the view over the whole Fuengirola. As it’s built up on the hills the views remain even a lot of new construction work is located in this area in the border of Fuengirola and Benalmadena.

The aim was to keep the interior simple yet stylish, modern and transcend in both time and trends. The wish was to have rather dark tones in furniture than light ones - there’s enough light coming from huge sliding windows & doors. Actually the sun shine on the top floor apartment can sometimes be a bit too much, so awnings for the terrace and blinds for the windows were added.

This is the place where the entrepreneur owners can easily pop in and work remotely, especially when the temperature drops dramatically in Northern Europe.

By the way the blue accent colour was picked up from the existing kitchen back splash panel. The blue tones continue in splashes through the whole home.

Accent colours: warm toffee & deep blue.

High ceiling and huge windows let the sun in to this living & dining area.

Stripes in textiles add an exotic touch to Scandinavian decor.

Dark colours give contrast for otherwise very light and airy penthouse home.

There’s space for a small dining table as well as for a breakfast bar.

A place to work from home - never get tired of these sea views!

Master bedroom in neutral soothing tones.

There was a bath tub in the primary bedroom. Added a panel behind it.

Jacuzzi on the terrace.

Guest room for home office as well with an adjustable desk.

What do you need for your terrace? A jacuzzi, fire place, lounging area and a dining nook with a spectacular view.

Relax & enjoy the sea views!

Light & Airy Apartment in Blue Wave, Torreblanca

Brand new apartment in a walking distance of the beach makes this an ideal holiday home for the whole family. The apartment has a huge terrace opening from the open living, dining and kitchen area. It also has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 toilet.

The sliding windows/doors are spectacular and covering 3 sides of the living area. That means there are a lot of light. Fortunately the terrace blocks some of the sun rays, so no sun glasses needed inside. Often in these new development buildings there are still some things to do such as adding shower walls/doors, mirrors and storage units to bathrooms. Also electrician is always needed as the lighting must be fixed.

The goal was to make this apartment a modern & cosy second home for a family, where young parents could spend their holidays with their kids and also grandparents could come and work remotely.

Green velvet sofa was on their wish list, so that was the starting point. Modern wooden pieces of furniture give warmth, small golden details bring luxury and transparent glass creates serene airiness. Floral patterns on cushions and posters give personality to this home.

Boho Style Penthouse in Los Boliches

A compact penthouse located near all the amenities and just a short walk from the beach. Cannot be more ideal, can it?

This home has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with access to a private terrace. There are also 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. As often in the new-built homes, also here both bathrooms were lacking shower screens, mirrors and hooks & other small accessories. The standard measurements of both showers made it easy to find glazed doors and screens. Also some wall moulted cabins were fixed to add more storage space for towels and cosmetics.

The wish was to have a light & cosy second home in a Scandinavian Boho style. A white linen sofa was a perfect piece to start with. Adding wooden and yute pieces around it created a fresh yet warm atmosphere around the open plan living area.

As this was a turnkey project, it included all textiles, tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

We were recommended by a former client.

Brand New Apartment in Middle Views, Carvajal

Sunny days all year round - that’s the life in Costa del Sol. A Finnish family chose a brand new apartment in Carvajal, Fuengirola, for their second home. Location is perfect - the sea is near and so are the mountains. Actually you don’t need to leave Middle Views as there are plenty of amenities - outdoor pools, sauna and gym.

This home has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with access to a huge private terrace. Also from all the three bedrooms there’s access to the terrace as well.

Simple, stylish and Scandinavian were the key words for the interior. No yute nor rattan pieces yet comfy and light furniture. So that the whole family can easily enjoy while spending time in their modern Andalucia home.

As this was a turn-key project, it included also textiles, tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

This fantastic home was bought from Minna Laine at Lomakoti ulkomailta.

Modern Boho Home in Middle Views, Carvajal

One of the most sought after home decor styles is boho style. Especially for the Mediterranean holiday homes the Scandinavian boho is popular. Natural materials such as wood, yute, bamboo, linen and leather together with neutral tones make a place fresh and cosy.

The layout of this apartment is pretty much similar with the other Middle View home I furnished earlier. So it has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with access to a terrace. Also from 2 of the bedrooms there’s an access to this terrace. The master bedroom has its own balcony.

The wish was to have quite a many functions in this home. As the space was limited, I tried to fulfil those wishes without making the home too packed. It is a family home, where parents, children and grandparents can enjoy spending time either on holiday or working remotely.

The most popular place in the apartment is probably the terrace. There you can enjoy the sun, warmth and views. There’s enough place for dining and chilling. As it is glazed, you don’t need to mind the occasionally chilly winter winds.

As this was a turn-key project, it included also textiles, tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

Sunny & Vibrant Home in Middle Views

Home for the whole family! With a busy life in Finland it is a pleasure to have a second (or third…) home in sunny southern Spain. The gem of the apartment is the huge partly glazed terrace. It is the place where the family can gather together, dine al fresco all year around, or just chill out in the comfy seating area.

The home includes an open-plan kitchen and living area, 3 bedrooms and a master bedroom with ensuite. The bedrooms are not that large, so the basic idea was to have comfy enough beds to everyone. Colourwise the bedrooms are calming and relaxing. Vibrant colour pops where saved for the living room and terrace. Sunny yellow and shades of blue sea bring character and charm to the space.

A turn-key project included also textiles, tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

Lovely Vacation Home in South Beach

Big terrace with a marvellous view to the sea makes this vacation home a place to be! This home was basically move-in ready, just needed some painting and small fixes. My client from Finland had bought this apartment for rental purposes as well as for their own use to escape - when ever possible - the northern cold and dark season.

South Beach home has open-plan living and kitchen, 2 guest bedrooms with a bathroom and en suite master bedroom. Client’s wish was to have a bit of luxury feeling there, and one thing the couple had spotted was a pink velvet couch. What a lovely piece! That was a fantastic challenge for me to decorate the space to look inviting, cosy and elegant. The goal was to keep the colours as neutral as possible, so picked up beige as the main hue. I tried to avoid white in the furniture to keep the warm look.

It was important to have good beds in all bedrooms to sleep well. The other guest bedroom has a small desk, which is vital for rental homes. The existing wall lamps were kept in the bedrooms. For the master bedroom I was looking something special for the wall, not just a poster or a painting. Fortunately found a huge piece of wall art in matt golden tone.

Beautiful & light open plan living and kitchen

Soft mixture of pink and beige

Anyways, it’s the place where you will spend most of the time while on holiday.

Chic & Cosy Home in Vanian Gardens, Estepona

Welcome in! This 3-bedroom home with open plan kitchen & living area invites not just the owner couple but their daughter’s family with a baby as well.

The other guest room has a baby cot. There’s also enough space for a desk, so remote work with teams meetings can be handled without disturb. A sofa bed gives a place to sleep when more people are visiting. The other guest room has a double bed.

When you enter the apartment you can see the gorgeous dining table. It is massive and light at the same time! It has a thick wooden top but the glass legs make it airy and create a nice flow to the space. The whole home has a twist of Japandi style. It is a mixture of Scandinavian fresh & light decor and Japanese minimalism. Soft hues of beige and cream together with small black details and a splash of blue make the home calming & relaxing.

Living area - modern and timeless at the same time.

Fabulously Sleek Apartment in Higueron

Modern 2 bedroom apartment in a newly built residential area in Higueron with a great range of wellness facilities and services. Perfect location for a second home where you can relax, live healthy life and work from home.

As it is sunny and green outside all year around my client wanted to have their home simple and chic without any colour splashes. The goal was to keep the overlook sleek, modern and timeless, and as minimal as possible. Combination in soft grey, sharpening black and crispy white with a hint of warm beige gives a perfect background for all that.

Small side tables are enough, no coffee table needed. Actually now the whole space looks and feels bigger and creates a perfect flow in the room. When the colour scheme is minimal, you can play with materials and patterns. Here it is a mixture of curly bouclé, smooth and polished fabrics which all give a fabulous contrast for glass, metal, and marble-like surfices. Patterns on posters and cushions give that finishing touch, which makes a space interesting and fascinating.

Both bedrooms - en suite master and guest room - have the same minimalistic look in black and white Marimekko bedlinen, which the client brought from Finland.

Modern Home in Earthy Tones in Higueron

A place where the whole family can relax, enjoy the sun and warm weather, do sports and also work and study remotely. The buildings in Higueron area are more like resorts with pools, gyms and other recreational amenities.

This newly built home has an open concept kitchen, dining and living area with access to a private terrace. It is possible to open the sliding doors almost completely which makes the inside space feeling as a part of the outside space. There are also 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the other side of the apartment.

The existing kitchen cabinets are black with creamy worktops and wooden backsplash. A hint of black is added around the apartment to sharpen up the earthy hues of soft beige and warm brown.

Terrace is the place where the time is mostly spent. So a dining, relaxing and lounging areas can be found in this sort of narrow outdoor space.

As this was a turn-key project, it included also textiles, tableware, cutlery and small kitchen appliances.

This fabulous home was bought from Lomakoti ulkomailta.

Refurbished Apartment in Las Acacias

Lovely 2 bedroom apartment in a nice residential area next to Torrequebrada golf course. My job was to update and refresh the living room with a dining area, guest room and master bedroom. .

The idea was to make this holiday home easy to maintain - so the white sofa got a new darker cover. That green colour gave the idea to create natural leafy atmosphere. Bambu and yute are perfect materials for a cosy summer home. Neutral tones keep the look soft, a hint of black is needed to add a bit of sharpness. Colourful cushions and posters on the walls together with the green sofa make the living room fresh and playful.

An electric fireplace was on the owner’s wish list. It is definitely a nice feature, and also practical during the winter. Even though we are in the southern Spain with sunshine almost every day, the winter season can be surprisingly cool at night and in the mornings. The electric fireplace warms up the room better than a radiator. It also looks good and brings cosiness to the space.

Both bedrooms - master and guest - are basically colourless. Just tones of white, beige and black are used. Those hues create relaxing and calming space for good night’s sleep.

Now the apartment has that welcoming homey feeling.

Apartment next to Parque de la Paloma, Benalmadena

Sea, sun and own place, where to come when the Northern weather gets chilly and wet. The new owners of this apartment next to the beautiful ‘Paloma Park’ had visited Costa del Sol for several times before they decided to buy this 3-bedroom flat. The couple fell in love with the layout, location and the house itself. It is a well-maintain residential building with lots of flowers and green area as well as a community swimming pool.

Light beige floor tiles and white walls give the possibility to add some extra colour to the interior. We started the project by choosing a sofa. A leather sofa in cognac brown is stylish, timeless and gives character to the space. The idea was to create a cosy, fresh and airy home in natural tones without forgetting to add some colours. Every room has its own characteristic colour yet the whole scene is harmonious.

The home was bought fully-furnished. Only a couple of decorative objects were kept from the previous design such as the big unique floor lamp in the corner of the living room, a porcelain real size ‘Lassie’ figure and a black metal boy statue holding a torch.

Walls are still missing some art work.

Fresh & Cosy Apartment in Riviera del Sol, Andalucia

Holidays in the sun! Having your own place in the sunny Costa del Sol is a dream come true to this family. They bought a newly renovated 2-bedroom flat in the hills of Riviera del Sol. The apartment was an empty canvas and needed to be furnished and totally equipped. There’re not too many square meters to spare, so functionality together with welcoming atmosphere were on the top of the list.

As it will also be for rental purposes the apartment should be easy to maintain, clean and keep in order. No extra knickknacks lying around and collecting dust. A sofa bed is practical for accommodating more people. A dark grey tone was chosen as it’s neutral and easy to combine with other colours, and it’s more user-friendly as well.

Jute and rattan immediately create a vacation home feeling. Watery blue & green hues are cooling and calming. Yellow tones bring the sun, warmth & joy inside.

Andalucian Townhouse in Los Pacos

You can feel the unique Andalucian atmosphere and living in this renovated home in Los Pacos, Fuengirola. It used to be pretty dark with dungeoun vibes. After knocking down some walls, the whole downstairs got a total make-over and new inviting feel. We didin't want to make it too sleek, yet have that "Andalucian style meets Scandinavian design" feel & look.

The upstairs with four bedrooms and two bathrooms was an easy job - just needed new paint, new handles for wardrobes and new textiles. The master bedroom's en-suite got new marble pattern tiles for the shower, flooring, vanities, mirror and lighting. Meanwhile the other bathroom upstairs only needed a new mirror, lighting and shower screen for the bath tub.

There was already a Finnish sauna downstairs but without a shower, so that small bathroom was totally renovated and a shower added.
